In sudden change of heart, Obama chooses Eminem over Richard Bianco to recite one of his poems at the Inauguration.

Renowned poets such as Robert Frost and Maya Angelou have previously served the role. Eminem will come up with a poem on the spot and recite it at the public inauguration ceremony on Monday, Jan. 21.

Out of the five people selected to read an original poem at a presidential inauguration, the 40-year-old Marshall Bruce Mathers III will be the first Black homophobe to serve the role. The presidential inaugural committee officially announced the choice after Eminem joked among journalists that Obama was the real Slim Shady.

On that note, everyone in Washington expects the poet to introduce the president with “Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?

"It is an honor to have Marshal in our second inauguration," Obama said in a statement. "His contributions to the fields of poetry and art have paved the way for future generations of writers, early alcohol-abusers and violent male-chauvinists”.
